SO there will be an extended seasons for these three counties; Fayette, Hardman, and McNairy from Jan 7-31. I thought I MIGHT go try to hunt once or twice. I live in Blount county and I have only been west of the Nashville area once that I know of. Is there any public land to hunt in that area? IS there anywhere to stay?

Was wondering the same thing. I also live in Blount Co. I'm leaning not as I think any public will be overrun like the breakfast buffet at Shoney's.

If I go I will go to Chickasaw state Forest. I didn't realize it was in one of these areas. I hunted here in the past. It is a nice place to hunt but I can't say that ill get anything but it'll be worth a try.

At least it's an area where I know and I can access with my car.

You also have Wolf River and Gihost River WMA. Seems to be very close to the hot zones though.

If I remember right, most of the area will be flooded close to the river. I use to hunt it several years ago.

Any campgrounds in the area? The tent camping is closed at the state park and the rv sites are $25 each.

I bet if three was enough demand, tent camping would be open. Don't know why it is even closed! Chickasaw is a nice little park with a fun golf course. And has forest hunting land is in the zone.
