So come to find out, this Charles Daly Hawken style muzzleloader I've been fooling with lately takes small rifle primers for the ignition source. That's great because I have a lot of those. Anyway, I did some shooting recently and was getting decent groups with 90 gr Pyrodex and a 270 gr Buffalo Bullet. After some research, it seems you can't get those bullets anymore but I should be good for a little bit.
Also got to wondering if I could try loose 777 with it having the small rifle primers? Seems like it would be easier to clean than Pyrodex? Any experience?
