Food Plots Any difference between awnless wheat and beardless wheat?

Google isn't turning up much info, but it appears that they are the same thing.

All I know, is the seed store around here didn't know what I was talking about with awnless but they have beardless.

From what I know, it is the same thing.

I also asked the Co-op if the wheat they had was awnless and the lady didn't know what I was talking about. Does anyone know if regular VNS seed wheat is awnless?

Beardless=Awnless.

VNS has a chance of being an awnless variety but as VNS stands for "variety not specified" nobody knows if it is until it makes a head.

i always get the VNS wheat from coop.... so far i have been lucky to get awnless....
i let my wheat mature this past year..... i didn't realize how much the deer and turkey liked those seeds...

Hope we get lucky. I have 600 lbs of VNS in my seed mix. If all goes well, I'll have wheat up high and crimson clover down low this coming spring. Should draw in the turkeys
