I have always wanted to fish this pier. http://www.okaloosaislandpier.com/ http://www.okaloosaislandpier.blogspot.com/ http://okaloosaislandpier.blogspot.com/ ... kings.html The spanish mackerel should be around in good numbers by now. Gotcha plugs on 20# spinning gear are a fun way to catch them. Be sure to tie the plug onto a 1-2 foot leader of 40 to 60# mono. Ocean fish do not mess around with gear. Also squid spoons on a 3-4 foot leader attached to a 2-3 oz sinker can be killer too. Match the spoon size to the bait around the pier. Smaller is generally better. Too big will never get bit, but smaller will. I always just walk the pier watch what people are doing and copy it. Most people are happy to share their fishing techniques. Good luck, Scrubs
