I was thinking about buying one in the 3-9x42. Just curious if anyone had any comments: good or bad. I have viewed Redfield as a subordinate scope when it comes to Leupold or Nikon for many years now, but this particular Redfield perked my interest.

Thanks!

I'm posting here more to "up" your thread than to give you any valuable info. :D

But as to your question, it would depend on which line of Leupold or Nikon you compare. I definitely would rather have any Redfield over the lower quality Nikons, and think the Redfields are comparable to the Leupold VX-1 series, although some say the Redfield are better glass than the entry level Leupolds.

You're right, Wes. I should have clarified. For my money, when it comes to Leupold or Nikon I'm not moving below the VX-II or Buck Master series. That's just me.

The battlezone series must not be too popular though :) .
