Any bird hunters out

Just wandering if anyone had been leeting their bird dog run? Going to brave the cold in the morning and let my girl try to find a grouse. Hunted twice early in the season and moved a few birds. Still have not been out after gentleman bob. Anyone finding birds this year?

I am to young to have known the "good ole days". I hunt with several old timers who talk about days of multiple covies here in East Tennessee. I know now they are very few and far between but I do love to see my dog work to find them, and it is still rewarding to find the few we do find. All of the old timers that got me into it have since gotten rid of their dogs all but given up. I still love to get out though, bird or not, I know the dog gets frustrated as well though. Maybe one day.

I hunt mostly in Greene Co. and the hunting is tough. It takes alot of boot leather to grouse hunt. Hunted all last season with 3 flushes and 1 so far this year.

We have quail, just no dogs to hunt 'em
