Okay, so here's the story. Several years ago I collected antique pocket pistols and suicide specials. I had forty or fifty but today only have a few left due to other interest.

This old gun I bought from a guy walking around at a gun show for $40. I bought it only because it was interesting and I wanted to find out what it was. I have shown it to a few folks and have yet to find out exactly what it is or caliber it shot. I have only ever seen a picture of one similar in a book but it had a very large knife blade attached under the barrels.

It's an interesting piece as it is very crudely made but has fascinating trigger assembly. The triggers are flush against the receiver until the hammers are cocked, and they drop into view.

From what I can tell style wise I believe it to be Spanish made but I don't know that for sure. And it is some sort of pinfire.

Anybody ever seen another or have any info? A makers name or date would be helpful. Any antique gun specialist on here?

I see that the sights have been filed off. A wise move on the owners part back then.

Yeah, it must have shot a paper type cartridge? There's a lot of space between the barrels and receiver. Also it's a smooth bore, no rifling at all.

My brother has a collection of the older boot pistols. I mentioned this one to him last night and if I'm recalling right he said it was probably a Borden type pistol. No guarantees on that though but maybe a lead to follow. He did say if you ever want to part with it to let him know.

Hey thanks Whelen, I'll see what kind of info I can dig up on the Borden. I would mainly like to know around when it was made. I guess I've had this gun fifteen years or better and still don't know what it is. Tell your Bro that I may consider trading it for one of those good ole 760's you were telling me about! ;) Haha.
