Antique gun?

Any one have any experience with a Vetterli 10.4x38mm? Customer gifted me one today. I was astounded! I did a little research and it shoots a .41 cal. rimfire/black powder shell. Do any of you gun guys know anything about these? I'm wondering if I will ever be able to find some one to make me a shell for it...either way, it's a beautiful, long heavy rifle. #s on the stock, action, and barrel all match so i know it's OG! Made for the Swiss army in the late 1800s

1. Sell/donate to the NRA museum.
2. Surf the web in Switzerland and see what you can find

There are folks who go to great lengths to keep these old rifles shooting.

I would say you will be MIGHTY lucky to ever find any ammo for that one..

I follow castboolits.com a lot and found this over there about converting the rifle to a centerfire:

Might be worth it to you if you really want to shoot it much.

Convert to center fire. I think Buffalo Arms has the brass....Neat old gun and looks to be in fine shape.
