Got to call a few farms on the north side of bedford county. was hunting with blue 5 and the one. went to a farm that looks like west kansas that has given us too many yotes over the yrs to count. set up and called and 10 minutes in on the woodhaven open reed i see a yote walk out the woods. he sat and stared at us at 500 yards. it was a subordinate female. she came a little closer than began to move parallel to us. we looped around here and got to the other side and called her in to about 350, but she just wouldnt commit and was distratced by a mouse. All of a sudden she turned tail running and jumping and we see another one coming hard our way, but the best we can tell, she chased it off and both disappeared over the hill. so we cut our losses and headed to another spot down the road. this farm always produces, and today was no different. we cut tracks going in and get set up. told them to get ready it will happen fast. 5 minutes in with tweety, a young male comes in on string. stops at 100 yards and The One turns the lights out with the 22-250. at the shot i see movement to my right and catch the butt end of yote haulin through the patch of cedars to our east. hit 2 more farms later and both were dry. pretty good morning and a lot of fun.
