probably hard to tell with one in velvet and some growing to do and one not. if it is, he has definitely put on some weight.
 
Hard to tell. Doesn't look like it to me. It all depends on when that pic was taken in velvet. If within the last week or 2, I wouldn't think it's the same deer
 
As Wes said, "Can't rule out the possibility." When trying to decide if two pictures are of the same buck, instead of looking for similarities, I look for defining characteristics that make it unlikely the two pictures are of the same buck. In essence, I look for anything that says, "Nope, not the same buck" instead of looking for characteristics that are similar (which most bucks will have). I see no antler characteristics between these two pictures that prevent them from being of the same buck.
 
The brow tine configuration looks awful close, but this year's pic is a little blurry and hard to tell for sure.

The more I look at the two pictures, the more I tend to agree with redblood. Last year's pictured buck has tines that turn inwards towards the top. This year's buck's tines do not. That's usually not something that changes from year to year.
