You can always double rig 1/16 jigs and do pretty good on the skipjacks, just basic white works best, on the bass, I usually fish the riverside and I will hit the mouths of creeks and coves with flipping jigs or carolina rigged lizards or tubes
Early in the morning you can get on the points and nail em on topwater til about 6-6:30 am. Then switch to a crankbait that will run 6-10 ft deep and hit the same points for a bit. Once that dies, I move deeper on the points or hit the ledges and humps with big football jigs or Carolina rigged plastics. You can also pick up some smaller fish throughout the day around gravel banks and laydowns with a white spinnerbait and a shakey head worm.
