Got a deer the week before thanksgiving with my inline muzzleloader pistol. Today I was sitting in my blind when a bobcat caught my eye. It was sneaking up the logging road behind me. He got within about 10 yards when he sensed something was not right. He turned and walked off over the hill before before I could get a shot. When I turned back around I saw a doe about 110 yards down the logging road in front of me. I steadied my S&W 460mag XVR on the rest. I had zeroed it at 100 yards and felt comfortable shooting targets that far but the only other handgun kill I had was with the muzzleloader pistol at about 40 yards. I placed the crosshairs just behind the shoulder and squeezed the trigger. I could tell the round found its mark as she turned and ran. I waited about 30 minutes before I went to check. I found hair and blood and trailed her about 70 yards and found her I've hunted since I was 7 and I love hunting with bows, ML and rifles. This is my first year of hunting with handguns it is definitely one of my favorites.

Shouldn't this say hand Cannon??? :tu:

It is definitely a hand cannon. My Father in law has a 44mag, he and I were out shooting before season and he said the muzzle blast alone should kill them. It definitely gets the job done.

That's something to be proud of for sure. Awesome shot, congrats!

My first this year with a pistol, also. Ruger Redhawk .44.

What scope are you using there? I'm iron sights at the moment.

Congrats on your kill!

I'm using Leupold 2.5x8x32 awesome scope. It has not lost zero even with the punishment of the 460mag. Of course with this shot I was also using a Caldwell deadshot fieldpod to steady the shot.
