Another mock scrape?

I have the chance to scout a new spot this weekend that I will be going back hunting in 3 weeks. I am considering making a mock scrape and putting a trail can on it. Would this be a beneficial tactic or a waste of time?

Pretty sure it will be beneficial. I'm headed to Kentucky Thursday and will be doing the same thing in hopes of getting some good bucks on camera where I hunt..

Beneficial in terms of information. Waste of time in terms of hunting.

But...takes me about five minutes or ess to make one. I reckon just about everybody can waste that much time.

Beneficial, as long as you make the scrape in the right location.

How do you decide your location for one at new land?

How do you decide your location for one at new land?

By looking at terrain and habitat. With practice, you can predict where scrapes will occur in conjunction with high deer interaction areas. If a natural scrape isn't there, make one.
