If this is a concern of some hunters, I'd suggest a sandwich bag or the plastic bags you put bolts in at your local hardware store, secured with a zip tie. To hell with the goofy looking orange rubber thingy.

Whenever I'm worried about getting blood on anything (or ticks coming off the bird) I just used a large trash bag. Completely covers the bird, not just the head. Even if you make a perfect head shot, there will sometimes be blood all over the bird, and/or a stray pellet or two hitting the bird somewhere else.

Usually don't care about getting a little blood in the game bag part of my turkey vest. Mainly an issue in the truck or cooler, and my real "issue" typically is more about ticks coming off the bird than blood.

When your a partial midget, you got to take steps in life to even the playing field. Most hunters get blood on their butts, I get blood on my ankle. LOL.

You boys go ahead and get blood on your truck seats. I have no use for a vest, and have for years carried my birds in an orange mesh bag with shoulder straps that folds up in my pouch. Sure makes a long walk so much easier than trying to carry a bird over the shoulder. I use a Walmart bag to cover the head and neck while inside the bag for this very purpose :super: !

I carry an Ingle's plastic sack, either in my vest or in a cargo pocket on days I'm not wearing a vest. In it I keep a 3 1/2ft piece of 1in mule tape with a loop tied into each end, which I use for a tote, along with my toilet paper. That bag's purpose is for tying around a gobbler's head to keep blood off the back of my pants. It also keeps my TP dry as well as my calls on damp mornings.

Coming from the guy who says, "20 gauges are for women and children".....Good grief!!!! Dont be afraid to get your Victoria Secret panties dirty. oke:

You guys can make fun of this if you want to but I've been using them for years. Even bought a good supply of them years ago when Wing Supply had them on close out. They not only keep the blood off of the back of your vest and pants but also serve as a visual safety aid as you walk out of the woods. And lets face it, a headshot turkey, especially with a HTL load, will bleed.

There's nothing dumb about it if you want to keep the blood off of your pants which is then transferred to your truck seat. I just like to care of my belongings more than showing that I'm a "manly" man. And these are not new. H. S. Strut introduced them several years ago.

If you're talking about the Primos Turkey Strap, I also bought a few when Wing Supply had them on close out for $4. They are way better than that orange plastic ballon in the video.
