Another cwd question

If prion live in the soil and plants think about were most of corn and grain is grown in the us . Most comes from a cwd zone . So would the seed we plant for food plots be contaminated making the soil contaminated?

theoretically, yes it is possible. Realistically, I doubt there are any cases of CWD transferred from a hot zone to inoculate a new area via seeds. OFC, since it takes years to cause problems, there would be no way to prove or disprove

Sounds reasonable to think it might. I also read a question on another post concerning skulls. If you can clean and transport the skull plate why can't you clean your skinning knives? Are the skull plates really clean? Are the knives really contaminated?

How long have we been eating deer with cwd. New study finds something new. Everyone gets on band wagon.i growed up on venison in Wisconsin and deer meat in Tennessee. probably got cwd or a form but I'll be taxed to death way before it gets me then when the autopsy will say I died from cwd.

Apparently it takes a load of prions to infect an animal. A single prion won't do it. So a lot of these concerns are not valid. I don't know whether it takes 10,000 or a million.It may depend on the health of the deer. If deer can live in an infected area without being infected then it takes more than a few.
