Is it possible to get another temporary registration? I got a new boat last summer and had the title switched and got the yellow temp paper, but the boat spent the majority of the summer in the shop getting worked. I left the temp papers in the boat so the mechanic could run the boat when he needed to and I didn't send in my papers until now. Now that my boat works properly I'd like to be able to fish until my stickers come in. Thx in advance for any answers.

If you didn't send your money in with the tempoarary registration, it was illegal for your mechanic to be running the boat on such.

There IS NOT a tempoary registration to try out or work on a boat. The only temporary registration is when you actually go through the registration process by sending in they money. The temporary registration part allows you to operate on your receipt until your certificate of numbers comes in.

It sounds like you need to do a boat registration?

When I bought the boat I went and registered it at the clerks office. I was given paperwork that was supposed to allow me to operate the boat for thirty days? But I took the boat to shop and left the papers in the boat in case mechanic needed to test run. I guess I'm screwed until stickers come?

Did you send in the money for the registration at the time you paid the sales tax at the clerk's office? If so, your registration and decal should have come by this point and you have no need for operating off of a temporary registration.

If you did apply for registration last summer and haven't received it from TWRA, you need to check with our boat registration at (615) 781-6585 to see why you haven't received it. It should have come months ago.

If you didn't actually apply by sending in the money to TWRA, the temporary registration form you had was invalid. It only works while waiting for the certificate and number and decal after sending in the registration money.

If you haven't completed a registration application by sending in money to TWRA, you will have to do so before you can put the boat on the water.
