I finally got to shoot my new (to me) 25 wssm yesterday. The rifle, a 2005 Model 70 Classic Ultimate Shadow, came with a box of "factory" ammo. Nothing about the ammo looked like reloads.. everything was as it should be. After each of the first 3 rounds fired, the bolt was pretty tight. After those, the bolt worked as it should. Any suggestions on what could have been going on? There were no other pressure signs. I've read that when reloading this round, pressure can climb very quickly, and to be careful...which I am with everything I reload. I wouldn't think factory ammo would be loaded that close to the threshold. Just looking for possible causes. Thsnks

Had you cleaned the bore and possibly had solvent of some type in the chamber? Or was there possibly debris in the chamber? Either of these could cause some stiff lift and could have possibly cleared after a few shots.

I have shot a couple different kinds of factory ammo that when I went to reload the brass it wouldn't hold a primer..

You might be right. I had just scrubbed it out with CLP, may not have gotten it dried good. Thanks
