I got a surprise half day off from my Manager and took off for the MSSA range. Last time I went I was trying to shoot a single shot CVA in 7mm08 left-handed. I could not see so good out of my right eye and quite frankly I was such a poor shot I decided not to hunt.
So from 12/27/2014 to today, I had not been to the range except for that one attempt to shoot left handed. This is my first two shots with my go-to most trusted firearm, my 30.06 Browning A-Bolt. This is with 150 grain Accubonds sitting on top of 60 grains of IMR4350 inside RP nickel plated cases and lit off by a Federal 210-M primer.
I was pretty satisfied with those two shots, may even have danced around a bit.
Next came the T/C Venture in .280. This rifle has been very accurate from the first round down the barrel. I was kind of surprised when the first round hit high and left. I adjusted the scope an inch to the right, fired a round, another half inch down, fired, a final half inch to the right. The .280 is shooting 140 Accubonds over IMR4350 Federal primers RP Brass. Going to do some more but this one is a few shots away from being finished.
Next came my Remington 700 .243 ADL. This is the rifle that I had to do a trigger replacement on when the safety literally rusted away. We also changed the scope, changed the bullet from 95 Partition to 90 grain Accubond.
Shot round 1, adjusted scope,2, adjusted, 3, teeny adjustment and 4. Few more rounds with this one should do it.
My Savage Axis in 7mm08 would not group. Chamber on this rifle is extremely tight. Fired 30+ rounds over a 4 hour window.
My Savage Axis in .223 would not group until the very end of the day. Went through 50+ rounds. over the same window.
No pressure signs all day, shoulder is holding up good (thank you mr PAST), can't wait for tomorrow. I am going to my Bench now and work on my 7mm08 and 223.
