I bought one from a member here- it wasn't that exact one- but it was an AMT Magnum Hunter 22M rifle.
It had a heavy, wooden. stock made by Boyd and a heavy stainless barrel. It was a decent deal, I think I have $200 for it. The guy said it was in great working order and all.
It ended up not functioning properly at all when I got it home. It was a semi-auto and would only cycle one at a time.
After trying a few rounds, it fired one of the 22m rounds and the action either opened early, or never was closed properly, because it blew the primer end completely off the case. It happened twice, I didn't realize what had happened the first time.
Anyways- I took it apart and there were parts that had broken in the action parts, under the stock. They'd been crudely welded together- I have no idea why- because replacement parts were available when I looked them up.
I spent a couple hundred more on parts, and got the welded action rod replaced, along with several others. It operated on a delay blowback system, pretty complicated for a 22m IMO.
It was a pretty decent rifle, I never did get the safety to operate smoothly, it was very stiff. The trigger was also really heavy on the one I had.
I ended up selling it for what I had in it- and gained some experience along the way.
I'd recommend taking it out to shoot at the range first. The 22m model I had was very accurate.
It also had been involved in a copyright infringement with H&R if I remember correctly.
