ammo question

I was going through some of my ammo that I no longer use and putting it in the correct box or bag...thinking I may sell it or trade for some I do use...however, on my 30.06 shells some say R-P and some say F C. What does that signify? Also, is there anyway to tell the grain of loose ammo? Thanks!

R-P is Remington, F-C is Federal, both fine brands of ammo. Only way to tell the grain is probaly to pull a bullet and weigh it. Maybe a reloader near you has a kinetic bullet puller you can use?

That is fine if he wants to pull every bullet. Otherwise not likely.

Don't have to pull every bullet.
1. weight a cartridge and write down the weight.
2. pull the bullet and weigh it.
3. weigh all the other cartridges and the ones that weigh within a few grains of the weight written down in step 1 should be the same bullet weight. Powder charges and brass will vary some but not by a huge amount.
