I just bought 2 boxes (20 round each) of American Eagle AR223 from walmart. Is this ammo alright for shooting through my bolt action rifle for plinking ? I want to use a decent quality round that wont damage my rifle. Walmart is out of the Federal 100 round packs and this American Eagle is made by Federal but thought I would ask about it.
 
Yes sir its a 223 bolt action. My concern was to not shoot any loads that might harm the rifle. I dont keep up with the latest news on ammo etc like I should.

You probably wont have any problems. General rule of thumb is that if it will cycle thru an automatic, it will shoot thru a bolt gun, but not necessarilly the othe way around.
 
I bought some for the wifes 380 and they did fine. I know its not the same gun but same brand ammo. Id say shoot the he!! out of it
