Im intrested in your method Poser you should do a vid such as one I posted im looking to lighten up my pack and if losing an actual stand altogether then that would be great

Pretty slick method for Ultra long walks carrying a loc on. The stirrup idea at the bottom will eliminate the need and weight of one stick which I use myself.

My personal issue is that I just hate climbers and portable stands period. They are bulky, loud, heavy, big, cumbersome, and don't carry well. I just bypassed using them altogether in favor of a harness setup mainly because I don't want to carry a climber around and so that I would not be limited to climbing certain trees (angle, girth, limbs etc). My goal was to be more like a ninja and less like a construction worker in the woods A weapon is the largest and heaviest single item I feel I need to carry when going hunting. But, that's just me and my system is not applicable to the masses.

yes I'd like to see your method in action poser. I have nothing against climbers myself, but would like to know the best way to do without one quietly and light weight

If I ever start using sticks I will definitely use that stirrup on the bottom one to get some more height out of them.

I watched this video while I sipped on a cervesa and gulped down spicy wings. I decided after the first reposition of the steps that I could do that. Took another sip of my cervesa, puffed my cigar and ate another wing or two during the next reposition and decided that I could not do this without taking a poop and then having to climb again. So guys I admit that I do not enjoy hugging a tree that much and I am not in that good of shape to endure another ascent because of immediate urge to loose weight. Knock yourselves out, I will continue hunting using an easier method!

Gotta give him credit for being inventive though.

Made me sweat just watching... I can go around limbs pretty easily with my Summit, do it all the time.

I'm sure anyone could do it more quickly in a climber, but I do like that this method lightens the load you're carrying into the woods.

I don't see myself carrying them because the ones worth carrying are so doggone expensive! Ha! I had one that I didn't pay very much for, but I ended up selling it because it was so heavy. Even with straps it cut off circulation in my shoulders. Plus, when I go in for all day sits, it's really hard to get in with a back pack unless your pack accomodates a climber. Again, though, that gets back to a money discussion.

I'm not that old (35), but I don't mind trading off whatever may have come had I used equipment like that for the old-fashioned tactics I've been using. I don't mind carrying in a ground blind or even sitting at the base of a tree with sufficientg cover in front of me. I'd gladly take any of those items were they gifted or if I had the chance to get them at a reasonable price, but I really cutting into my meat's cost per pound every time I get too excited about innovations.
