That is the time to clean your guns. The wife does not like the smell of cleaning fluids. Here is something that helps and keeps you from making a mess.

Take a soda bottle, I use a mtn dew bottle. Drill a hole in the cap just a little tighter than the size of your barrel. Slip the bottle with cap on over the end of your barrel and the patches will fall off in it and any fluids that drip out.

When finished put a cap on the bottle that does not have a hole in it and either keep until next time or trash it.

Keep the cap you drilled the hole in for next time.

I made one of these for each gun I have and the wife is a hole
lot happier.

Try it, you may like it.

Luckily my wife can't smell. Don't you just love the smell of Hoppes No.9 and Kroil? Can't say the same about the ammonia based products though.

Montana's Copper Cream, and CLP = no mess, clean & preserved firearms with no smell for me and the household......

I clean my guns alot. Most of the time I clean them in the garage. But if it's real cold, I'll clean them on the kitchen table. She doesn't complain because she knows I'll compalin if she's burning candles.

Apparantly there a lot on here that wear the pants in the family
(the wifes pantyhone with her permission}. I make the decisions in my house, I have my own. Lots of luck.
