After using top of the line optics for many years, I bought a new set of Swarovski slc binoculars in 10 x 42. They are MUCH brighter and have Much better clarity than anything on the market! It was money well spent!
 
I agree! I bought the same pair last month, took them to MT and WOW the difference.

Maybe one day. I used to have a pair of Nikon Prostaff 10+42 and loved. I couldn't imagine what y'all are talking about. Lol
 
My 7x42 Swarovski SLC are still going strong some 20 years later. However Glass has gotten better and my Mckinley's at $600 look sharper in comparison. I compared the Mckinley's to the Current day SLC when making the purchase and just could not justify the price. Maybe if I was birdwatching but not for big game hunting. Great optics no doubt.

When comparing glass, it must be done side by side and on overcast days , first light and last light. My $700 pentax are great but the new slc's absolutely blow them away when viewing conditions aren't ideal.
 
I have a 5 year old pair of 10x42 slc and they are just as bright and crisp as day one.

Their warranty is amazing too. Just ship them back in the off season with a note that you want them cleaned and inspected. They will clean and inspect them plus both times I've sent them they replace eye cups, and a whole other list of things for free... Free return shipping too.

What bino case do you guys use that have top end glass? I have a horn hunter kings hub case and love it. A little bulky but I love the protection it offers. I dont use the range finder attachment either.

I bought a pair of Swarovski's about 16 years ago and never looked back. They are expensive but every year I use them they average getting cheaper. Top notch optics! I've found and scrutinized a bunch of deer with them. Good optics should be a part of any hunter's arsenal.
 
I'm still trying to decide on a good protective harness. I definitely want something of high quality. I will probably order the same one poser listed.

I bought both a pair of Leica's and a pair of Swarovski's around the same time frame. A pair of 7x42 Swarovski and a pair of 10x42 Leica's.

Long story short GREAT OPTICS both of them.

Leica gave me all sorts of crap about registering them for warranty. Apparently you have to purchase Leica Products through ONLY certain authorized Leica RETAILERS in order to get the warranty. Needless to say I found this like 6 months after I purchased them and long after it was too late to return them for a refund. I was furious. It was not till I basically threatened to burn down the Leica plant (KIDDING) till they agreed to go ahead and register the Binos but not after alot of wrangling.

Swarovskis speak for themselves. Fully transferable and have never been a hassle and are great about taking care of any little thing. I have had them replace eye cups and do routine cleaning at no charge. They never ask for any documentation. Just send them in.
I love my Leicas but I would NEVER buy another pair.
 
The only problem I've ever had with my Swarovski's is with the eye cups or rain shields breaking the rubber strapping holding them on. I do quite a bit of traveling through thick stuff so I guess that's to be expected. Because of this prior to season opening I order a couple of replacements and have them on standby.
