The man who claimed the top angler trophy in the world may have been fishing your favorite spot yesterday. At least that's the case if you fish the tailwaters below Nickajack Dam. Dustin Connell ran 140 miles a day, round trip from Guntersville, Ala. to fish the Nickajack tailwater. That's where he won the Major League Fishing REDCREST Championship, and the $300,000 purse, for the third time. When the clock ticked down, Connell tried, but he couldn't hold back the tears. .. and I may be in the minority with this opinion.. but live fishing coverage is so boring. I don't think there's anything you can do to make it more interesting.

I kept flipping Red Crest on just because it's Guntersville,and I wanted to see where they were and what they were doing. DC shaking a minnow in the tailrace and Dudley shaking a whacky worm. Snoozer...

I was hoping Strader would pull it off. Whether you like DC or not, he's a heck of a fisherman. Congrats to him.

agree that watching competitive fishing is about as dull as you can get
