Can anyone make a firsthand recommendation on an airtight shooting house...preferably one that doesn't completely break the bank?

Sportsmen condos. Own 4 of them. Not

I dont have one but just looking at them at coop the Grizzlies look great. I like the rednecks. You can build one for not a lot of money. We have one built on a trailer.
Be careful if you use a heater as it can burn up the oxygen in a well sealed blind. Always crack a window open using a heater
I have the Sportsman Condo Crossbow in the tan color . It's on 10' posts and anchored from each post and the center. Not sure about air tight but zero wasps and maybe 1-2 ladybugs have made it in there during off-season . I put plywood floors and carpeted it bc I thought the floors were spongy for rolling chairs . Only use it in rain or brutal cold. I love it and my wife goes with me and reads.

The buddy heaters are supposed to be indoor rated. They will, or at least should, shut off in low oxygen, and if tipped over. But yes, ventilation is always recommended.

Bought a 360 blind before season and like it. Had deer down wind and they never knew I was there.
Not sure how "airtight" we will be able to make it, but just ordered a 5 wall outta site blind earlier this morning. I was going to rebuild or box blind but price was pretty decent at $530 with tax for these.
Please post a review when you get it set up, if you don't mind. I'll be looking at something like that in the next year or so to be able to take my kids hunting with me too.
Will do. Reviews online on them looked pretty good.

If you want truly airtight, the Rednecks are the way to go. But wow, the cost... If I only needed one or two tower blinds for my property, I might be able to justify the cost. But needing half a dozen or more, the Sportsman's Condo fits the bill for me.

I have several SCs and they are anything but airtight. These are older though so maybe manufacturing has improved a bit. I'll look into the others recommended except the Rednecks…way more than I want to spend.

What is the " airtight " question referring to exactly? What are you trying to achieve ?
If you catch any for less than $1000 let me know.
The sportsman condos have no seams. The only way for ventilation is around door and windows. With a little weather stripping you can make them about as airtight as you would want.
With a little weather stripping and a little effort they can easily be made relatively airtight being s they have no seams.

Technically, you don't want these airtight, they sweat inside so vents are needed IMO.

Scent containment. I'm trying to set up an absolutely killer spot but the wind can be tricky because of a couple of terrain features.

Youre right. I bought them a few years back for $900 each at the end of the season.
Then I saw some on black Friday for $999
I've been thinking about a blind with an exhaust fan that treats the exhaust with ozone. Ozone generator would be downstream of the exhaust fan so there would be no chance of breathing the ozone.

Why would you want any an airtight blind?
If running a heater you best not be airtight. If you're concerned about scent open a window and run ozonics. I've run ozonics some in SC but don't see the need. Rarely ever get scent busted in SC with multiple windows open and down wind side is dead on most any blind.

We have several Redneck blinds and have no issues with deer downwind of us at all. You keep the windows closed on the downwind side and deer do not scent you. They have two small vents in the top for running a heater and such. I run a heater all the time in them. We've never had one sweat at all. Think about it these tv hunters hunt out of them all the time. How many Sportsman Condos have you seen them in. Not saying the SC aren't good blinds but for scent free you can't beat a redneck blind. Pay the extra one time and know it'll work.

They have when the heaters on but a swipe with a small squeegee and they're fine. Any sealed up blind will. Like your truck did when you'd go parking in the winter. If they don't it's because airs getting in. If airs getting in then scent is getting out.

The sweat is mainly from the change in temp when the stand is not being used, think cold soda can. Propane has moisture in it, but good ventilation takes care of that for the most part. But the windows will fog up unless you have them open. My DIY stand is anything but airtight, and the heater makes the windows fog up if the inside and outside temp is much different, the heater makes the dew point meet the inside temp. I'm fixing to try DampRid bag to see if that helps. I hate having to keep wiping the windows until the temps move away from the dew point.

Omega is agree. I never thought about one of those DampRid bags. That may be a good idea. I see they are unscented but are liquid filled with crystals. I wonder if they'll freeze.
