Now that the NCAA is a paid sports league, kind of hard to justify denying an athlete from staying and playing as long as they like...

I've never seen a fan base tripping over themselves so bad just to get a average QB.
It is what it is. Just no rulings make sense. You get an Alabama judge to rule a the basketball players in his favor. Ncaa says no. But they have no punishment for it. Ncaa said no to chambliss but an Ole miss judge says yes. Pavia gets his junior college years to not count against him but Aguilar doesn't. Just a complete free for all. That average qb lead the league in yards as well. He made mistakes but tn is a better team with him then without at the moment.

Don't forget to add, he led the league in passing yards with a tumor in his throwing arm, had surgery after the bowl game.
Kid rolled in not long before fall camp, didn't get to go thru spring camp, had to learn the system on the run.
Year 2 under Huepel & the kid is top 5 in the nation.

Pavia getting an extra year, with the exact same situation as Aguilar, sux ballz.

NCAA is irrelevant, needs to be disbanded.

Next man up!

Let's roll GMAC!
Imagine how he must feel. The vols tried and failed to pursued every eligible elite QB in the country to come to play for thr vols and they all told them go pound sand. Then the vols took the NCAA to court to get a average QB to come out of retirement to play and that failed too. So GMAC is scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point . Lets roll LOL

First, I have been a Tennessee fan since the mid 60's and use to buy Vandy season tickets (they were cheap) to pull for whoever they were playing (except Alabama).
I lived for the start of every football season.
The last straw for college ball with me was when Beck went to Miami and started 9 months after his NC bowl loss.
College is just the NFL minor league now. Except the players don't get traded; they just leave.
Since they are now being paid, if a player signs with a college, they should be there until their contract is up (4 years) or they're traded, just like the pros.

I quit watching NFL 20+ years ago. Now I'm now done with college.

I bleed orange and as much as I'd like to have him back at UT I'm glad they ruled against him. College sports is for kids 18-23. Play your 4 years and move on to the nfl or the real world. Just need it to be consistent and not vary just because the judge is an alumni and huge financial supporter of your school.

No they need to stop paying any KID to play a GAME, if you don't wants to play because its a game then stay out ! You get paid when you get a JOB! Such EGOS nowadays! They have ruined a great sport altogether mainly because of rich mommy and daddy!

Live and learn.

I think on the surface I was initially in favor of NIL and I still am. But its off the rails and needs to be have some checks and balances. If the NCAA cannot do it someone needs to step in and resolve it.

I would be in favor of a one time transfer in a collegiate career. I think that is pretty fair because I'm sure some kids honestly don't work out in one program and it can benefit them with a transfer. Either that or if they transfer they have to sit out a year, like it used to be.

The way it is now it's teaching them to run when they don't get their way. Not getting enough playing time, transfer. Coach made you mad transfer. Broke up with a girlfriend, transfer.

I was/am in favor of kids getting paid because the college is making money off their backs. They couldn't even sign an autograph and get paid for it without getting in trouble. But what it has come to with NIL and transfer portal is far beyond I ever expected it to get to.

There is absolutely no loyalty to a program now.

Strange how money does that to an average ball player! Drug test these guys before games!

IMO, anyone receiving even one dollar in NIL should be required to pay back their scholarship. Those players are no longer student athletes, they're employees.

1. I believe there needs to be some rules about transferring from one school to another. one voluntary transfer allowed per an athlete's college career and one additional year if the head coach that recruited them leaves or is fired.

2. i am totally fine with the athletes getting NIL deals, but i do think that some type of cap needs to be put into place.

3. these schools make so much money from these athlete's that it is not even funny. there is no need for any school to make an athlete pay pack money to them if they have a NIL deal.

99% of the players are entitled punks who act like they are owed a free ride, there's the problem!
