Age?

When was the pic taken? My best "guess" would be 3.5. I am guessing that others are calling it older since it has a pretty nice set of antlers.

I think I might go with 2.5. His chest in relation to his legs looks like a young deer. Nice buck

He definitely isn't older than 3.5 and could be 2.5, that is gonna be a stud if a buck

Yeah. I've been saying 2.5. If that is the case, that is an exceptional buck. Between Ripley and Brownsville.

3.5 at the most. He does look 2.5 though. Looks like a doe with horns. Long legs, small neck

I agree he looks young, possibly 2.5 but more likely 3.5. I would like to see another pic in 3 weeks.

When looking at the pic, you have to hold your hands over the headgear. Frame looks too thin, legs too long, neck too skinny to be 3.5 so I have to go with 2.5

I'd like to see a pic of him on the ground in 3 weeks. :)

I may be wrong but for some reason I was under the impression that you were more of a "mature deer" hunter? Me personally, my standards can change from minute to minute. It depends what kind of mood I'm in on any given day. I have been known to shoot a spike with my bow and other days watch a parade of 1 and 2 year old bucks walk by without even considering shooting. One day I will shoot a doe and others won't raise the weapon.

Do you have any guidelines that you set for yourself or is it just what kind of mood you are in any particular day?

I will say no less than 3.5 . He may have a body that appears that young but that is a good 4 yr type rack on that head. Those mains appear to be pushing 22-24 inches and if he is a 2yr old then he has been on some kind of steriod diet. Early season deer will sometimes look smaller body wise til they start to fill out for the rut. Have you got any straight on pics of him ?

Im thinking he looks like he's 3.5 ( he has some hump in his nose is why I don't think he is 2.5 ) There are some very nice young bucks around here. That thing will be a monster if he makes it to 5.5
