I'm not too good at aging deer, but from the looks of the jawbone, I'd say that deer is DEAD!

5.5+... hard to age one by thier jaw bone thats older

6.5 + but when they get that old tooth wear is no longer reliable,it could be quite a bit older. I would send the incisor in to get the rings counted. Was it a doe?

The first deer (doe) my son ever killed was at Chuck Swan wma. I think it was ole Leon Harvey that checked his deer out. The young guy filling in the records asked Leon how old it was. Leon in his (almost now lost) appalacian dialect said " I don't rightly know, hits to h'old to tell! hehe.... He told my son,.."Boy, ye bettar par bile hat thang afore ye go to eat hit!"..and he was right!, it was so tought we couldn't eat it!.... He was a one of a kind...

Ditto that, Ole Leon was a character, saw him age a 28 lb field dressed doe at 4.5 yrs of age one day!! The argument was on, fellow that killed it told him if they were in that bad of shape to close the whole dang place!!!lol

What Alan said. 6 1/2+. And at that age by tooth wear, the deer is probably older than that.
