This was on a buddy's camera. He had pictures of him last summer but none with hard horns. I know this time of year is hard to age but what do you guys think?


He is pretty sure this was him last year.

 
I'm no good at aging or scoring but in my opinion he is plenty old and big enough lol. Hope he sticks around long enough for your buddy to tell us how old he was.
 
This time of year is tough, but one thing I have learned over the years is that when they look mature in the summer, they are probably at least one year older than you think.

I agree with Wes, I bet that deer is 5.5+. Nice buck.

I agree. In fact, this is my general rule of thumb on any buck in the summer. I make my best guess, then I add a year to that. More times than not, I'll post my best guess and put a "+" after it, like 4.5+, which is being conservative.

x2. 5.5 was my first gut feeling, so I erred on the safe side and said 4.5+ with emphasis on the +. :)
