Hello I am new to this forum, but have questions about a deer I've got on 5 cameras this year as to thoughts on his age and score. I hope he makes it as it is 4 Jan and have never seen him. It is a mountain deer that lives in very rough country with some hunting pressure. I also have pics of him in November. My neighbors will kill anything walking and may bright eye deer. Thanks for any thoughts on this topic.

Thanks for the reply I was thinking about the same thing. He is awesome would like to see him get fully mature, because he could be a true giant one day.

10 long points and super long beams, I'd say he's gonna break into 150. Age wise I'd say 4.5 but being run down by the rut he looks like 3.5. Very nice buck! If he makes it, next year he could be a real monster.

thanks fairchaser for your post I hope he makes it. If he does how would you find/hunt him next year. He will be older and wiser.

I say he is fully mature. The rut and mountain life have been hard on him. With those extra long main beams he may hit 160". 4.5 with the likelihood of being older.

Carefully! You will probably only get one chance! Too many variables to give good advice other than to bring your A game. Best of luck, he's a great deer.

I'm not completely convinced it's not 2 diff deer. I could be wrong. The deer in the last 2 pics is probably just under 150 and fully mature in my opinion. Likely 5.5

That's just what I've been mulling cb. I think the first buck could be a different buck, but it's hard to tell for sure with the shadows. Heckuva buck in other pics tho for sure.

Oh and I'd guess him at 4-1/2 as well, and approaching 150.

Great deer. Put out some good mineral sights and hunt him early before he gets too hip to the game. Possibly get a cell cam so you can pattern without disturbing the area. If you can't get him early hopefully you will see him hanging with a lady friend during rut. Good news is he at least is active during the day. I've been after some old bruisers that were totally nocturnal . Hope you get him.

Can't tell either if they are he same deer but man is he run down in the last two pics and not to plump in the first pic. I'd say 140's but a dang good buck and very typical ten . Thinking he's 4.5 maybe 3.5 don't think he's a fully mature . If he's older then he's going downhill IMO (I don't think he's that old) .Let's see a kill picture of him with you by his side , OK ?

Thanks everyone sorry haven't responded sooner but my computer has gone crazy I will take everyone's advice and post more pics soon of this deer and hope with him thank you again

Could possibly be different deer but based off of the last 2 photos I'm in accordance with most of the others on mid 140's. To me this deer looks to be 4.5yo run down from a long breeding cycle and also from dodging arrows and bullets the last few months. Best of luck with him he's a dandy!!!
