Not many mature bucks my way this season...

BTW, that's what it looks like when the seal leaks on a Covert.
 


Here's another pic, I was thinking at least 3, probably 4.....115". Hopefully I will shoot him and we will know for sure.

Here's a 2 year old for compariston....average 2 year old antlers for the area, probably 90".

Is that harvested or living 2 1/2's?

I'm often seeing harvested 2 1/2's outscoring living 3 1/2's (mainly in areas where 1 1/2's are highly protected). Individual antler genetics are varying greatly, and score-wise, can be a huge variance between average harvested vs. average living.

Very hard for me to accurately age bucks during August, but I don't doubt the buck in question isn't 3 1/2. My earlier comment of "2 1/2 or older" is all I can say with much certainty.
 
That's both harvested and living. I have never pulled a jawbone in this area from a large buck and then found out it was only 2. I have had pics of 2 year olds that were over 100" and some that were fork horns....for the post part they are about like the pic.

We do get some whoppers in the older age groups though. Had one killed by a neighbor a couple years ago that was over 160", and on the way down. I missed him twice in the preceding 3 years. Broke my heart when he was killed.

When I hunted KY 2 year olds were routinely scoring close to 120" and one killed on the farm went almost 140". Good habitat makes a big difference.
