Advice on Deer Hunting Raingear?

I'm scoping out my own Christmas present and am overwhelmed with the choices.
I'm looking for a camo, hooded hunting rain jacket and pants. Lightweight, breathable, quiet, durable.
I know you usually get what you pay for, and I want something very nice that will last without tearing when I'm in the woods.
Anybody have any ideas? Thanks so much in advance!

My wife bought me the Cabelas MT050 rain suit for Christmas. I've done nothing other than try it on so far but I was really pleased with the way it fit, and it wasn't as thick/heavy as I was expecting. So far so good.

Lots of good options available but I do suggest going with Bibs instead of just pants, as it will save your rear end from getting wet every time you bend over at the waist.

Good advice that I wish I had taken while shopping for myself.

I got the Squaltex (sp?) line from Bass Pro on sale several years back. It's actually pretty well made, and is comparable to the suede line mentioned above from Cabelas (Similar fabric). I'd say it's very water resistant, but not water proof. I've worn it several times in a heavy rain, and it will eventually seep through if you are out in it for a long time. My normal use is for light showers where I would actually still be hunting, and for that it's fine. It's not worthy of being in a duck hunter's foul weather gear inventory, though.

My biggest gripe with the Squaltex stuff is the jacket pockets on mine are Velcro-closed, which is noisy and annoying at times. I haven't looked to see if they are still selling it that way, but if you are building a deer spot-and-stalk rain suit, I'd look for magnetic closures or something else that's quiet.

Ive never owned any hunting pants shirts that I like more than the rivers west. Still 100% water proof after four years untreated. They are kinda expensive though.

LOL. I hadn't heard of the Shooting House clothing line, so I actually Googled their raingear. When I didn't find it, the obvious finally hit me! :)

I have the Core4Element rain gear and it does what I need it to. It's not too warm or too hot and packs up nice and small.

Same here. I use my tree umbrella whenever I can though.

I bought this brand of jacket and love it so far, keeps me dry in 5 hrs of decent rain in the market for pants now

Probably the best bang for your buck option.
Rivers West is good for treestand hunting, though a little warm for hunting in temps over 50 degrees. Take a look at First Lite, too.
