Been wanting to try and make chipotle powder.

Rather than the long process of slow smoking the jalapeños till dry, I'm giving them a bunch of smoke and then let them finish on the dehydrator.

I had a bunch of 7 pot brain peppers that I needed a use for, so I figured I'd try and make a smoked deer jerky seasoning to replace the ghost pepper jerky. Since these peppers were supposed to be ghost, but must have been mislabeled because they came out like 7 pot peppers. Still equally as hot as a ghost.

I've made all kinds of Pepper-powders on my dehydrator...just never Chiplote. Do it outdoors or in your garage or you will "pepper-spray" the family.
Oh I smoke them outside, well duh, and I dehydrate them outside too. Even though I live by myself I dont want that indoors. They are still drying now, will leave em overnight.

I grew some ghost peppers last year that were blazing hot! I was supposed to pick up a strain of Carolina Reapers from a local farmer but we just couldn't ever get together when he was available.

I like to live on the edge...

I was supposed to have giant ghost peppers but apparently Pepper Joe mislabeled them. Best I can guess they are 7 pot brain peppers, equally as hot.

Interesting application of smoke. I use most of my chiles in canning salsa and I smoke them first. The heat is still there but the flavors become more complex.

I grow some of Catmans ghosts along with a 7 pot and some other scorpion, japs and habs.

If anyone needs seeds just holler. I would love some reapers if anyone comes across some seeds.

I will be saving seeds from a bunch of reapers for sure. Send me a PM so I have it in my list and don't forget to send you some when they are ready.
