If you put a dot in the center of those orange circles, that is ground zero for the positive samples. That was my takeaway from it.
 
That's a pretty wide spread and not an isolated herd. Looks like Ames must be right dead center. Hopefully they will be able to collect enough samples by the end of January to establish meaningful stats on the prevalence.

If you're a GIS and Mapping person such as myself, I can agree with you. But for the time being, it's better than nothing.

Totally agree — it's the best we got and I think it is good the state is putting it out there.

Mississippi is including a year to date sampling map on their site. It looks like there have been about 150 samples from the 3 bordering counties that are in the 10 mile radious circles.

MS has been CWD positive for 2 years now. TN for 7 days. They'll have something soon.

Would y'all rather them have a slick website or be sampling a bunch of deer right now?

It looks like Ames and the 4H Camp can serve as the CDC proving/testing grounds for CWD research.

Sampling for sure. With that said, if one would just zoom that map in about 5-10x, and print/export it, with major roads and intersections identifiable, it would be light years better than it is. Total additional effort would be 1-2 minutes tops.
