Haven't been in middle TN much this summer due to prepping new area in KY. I. Fact I have 2 cams out that I haven't checked. How's the acorn crop? We had decent acorns last year. I'm in Jackson co. Hoping to head down and pull cards and hunt some in 2 weeks.

Jackson county had a ton last year. I haven't seen but heard there were quite a few this year. Not sure on if the drought messed with them at all though

Lot of red oaks. White oaks are hit and miss. Seen a few white and chinkapin oaks dropping really good, a few not dropping at all. Seems like a good year. Not too many, but plenty to go around

After yesterday mornings sit I took a sped scouting tour. Found the same thing Cat. Tons of reds. Couldn't find but a couple of chinkapins and all the persimmon trees I found were void. I think this month should yield some good deer on the ground.

I've found a bunch of Simmons dropping but haven't found any hot ones yet.

Whites and reds are loaded here. Beech nuts are also plentiful. One of the best mast years I've seen in a long time. There's so much mast, the hogs are passing up sweet feed.

East and southern middle both seem to be a decent year with all varieties (Reds, Chestnut and White) dropping at least some.
