Acorns??

Went to the lease in Rhea County about 3 weeks ago and didn't find much evidence of a decent acorn crop. Anybody else seeing anything different or am I just looking too early? There are buds on the oaks near my home in Blount County. Lease is hard to hunt during archery even with acorns - extremely difficult without.

A little early to see from a distance. Was on the roof last week fixing a leak. I was level with a white oak limb about ten feet away, and could see some about the size of a matchhead.

Judging by the blown down limbs I am seeing ours are loaded

Thanks - I'm hoping to back next week and see if things have changed and check cameras. Hopefully there are some little buds forming now. I think the elevation at the least may cause them to be behind there.

I think it's going to be a banner year for acorns! My grandson picked up a peck basket full just in our front yard and gave them to me so grampa could feed the "reindeers", his words.

Dropping here at the house but they are not very big on this big white oak but haven't been to my little place or the lease .

Persimmons are dropping here already.

i was out on my land and was looking with the naked eye, but it appeared red oaks had them and some of my post oaks. Didn't see many on my swamp whites, but I simply may not have been able to see them.

I saw one green persimmon on the ground and saw a few up in the tree.

I've not been back much, but others at our lease are telling me there aren't many white oak acorns there. Can't understand why really. Oh well, will have to find what I can and hunt the trails leading to them.
