Acorns GONE. What now?

So we hunt Cedars of Lebanon State Forest. The state doesn't do anything to manage it, so there's not too many deer... but it's close. Acorns are now all gone or rotten. ZERO sightings between three of us this morning. Countless shots from private property.

I know to hunt the edges of the forest and look for greenbriar and other woody browse. QUESTION: Do deer eat many of the green forbs that are in the creek bottoms? Some dry creek beds are green all over in spots, but I haven't noticed torn vegetation. Maybe not looking close enough? Any other foods I should be considering as we try to get on the deer? I know there's still deer in the woods, but it's a LOT harder now and would really appreciate any advice.

I hear ya, Mike. There's trails all through the cedar thickets around these creek beds. Just wondering which is better, the forbs in the creek beds, or green briar and other woody browse, typically on sunlit hillsides. Despite us not seeing anything this morning my son saw several fresh beds on one such hillside walking out this morning. Thanks a bunch for the tip.

Alot of ours at our big property that's all big hardwoods have had bellys full of Honey suckle or kudzu.

Not surprised. We don't have kudzu but would have more honey suckle if the state would actually manage the forest. I honestly think it's been well over ten years since anything's been cut.
