Acorns be killing

Saw 8 deer this morning, 5 this afternoon. First 3 deer I saw was a big doe and two good sized fawns. Right when I drew back on the doe, I bumped the release and sent my arrow into the woods. The doe didn't flinch, but one dawn saw me and blew the whole deal. Saw 5 more that went by single file out of range. This was in a spot I've gun hunted and didn't know what the acorns were like. Turns out it's just scattered red oaks.

Mid day had to drive to another town to buy a transmission for my dodge. Made it back to the woods before 4pm.

Hunted a cluster of white oaks in one spot that are dropping a lot of acorns. Saw one yearling buck here 2 days ago, but there was tons of deer crap. So of course I was back again with a good wind.

About 5pm or a little after, 5 does and fawns come over the ridge and went straight to the acorns like it was a corn pile or something. Shot one of the big does and watched her fall on top of the ridge.

Got my second donation to HFTH. This one was a longer drag than usual.

Way to find and have a setup ready to go on white oaks! The preparation is what brings home the meats.

Awesome ! Congrats on the kill . Scouted Yuchi yesterday seen a few deer but so many white oaks falling couldn't consentrate on any particular spot but did tag a couple spots morning and an evening spot . Go get em' Cat !

take a guess lol. Shot this doe with the same Swhacker I killed the buck with last week. All 3 deer arrow stuck in dirt. Had to sharpen this one after killing the buck cause it went through 2 rib bones and dirt.

thanks, I bet it's tough hunting those white oak dominated woods. Where I was at there's more red oaks than white, and not all of the whites are dropping, so that one cluster of trees that were dropping was a hot spot.

everything is on schedule far as I've seen. Some reds started dropping early especially shumard oaks, which is normal here. The whites are dropping now, some have been for at least a week. Again they're on schedule. I did see a couple chinkapins dropping earlier than usual, but last I checked the deer hadn't hit them yet. White oak and chinkapin oak are the two best acorns for deer around here. Shumard oaks are usually hot when there aren't any whites dropping nearby, but they are very abundant in my area, they grow almost everywhere.

Congrats man. When I was back home hunting 3 weeks ago I hunted 3 different places from Fri to Sun and at all places it was raining acorns.
