I have no white oaks acorns on my property in Sunbright but plenty of Southern Reds, Northern Reds, and Black Oak acorns. Both deer taken on my place this weekend were killed under Southern Reds. They both still had lots of browse in their stomachs though, just a few acorns.
 
Down low on our lease has em ( according to another member) but up highwhere I hunt has none! And my spot out burrville has none as well. Hit and miss I guess
 
My last three days of hunting each sit in 6 different locations has had acorn galore! Im going to have to set out and find the dominant trees. There are too many acorns. I went to a spot this morning that was littered so bad with acorns, it was impossible to have a silent entry / exit!

In the mountains chestnut oaks are pretty heavy but don't get eaten unless there are no others. I have seen a few reds and whites but not a lot.

Went on farmland Sunday looking and white oakes were piled up on the ground but a lot were wormy. Saw a red that was loaded and none on the ground yet.
 
Western Williamson Co: Chestnut oaks are raining, but the deer have already moved off them for the whites that are just now starting to drop a few acorns. Find a white oak that is dropping heavy and you will probably find a dominant tree.
 
seen plenty of acorns, hope to see some deer under an oak soon. A lot of oaks around middle TN are dropping but my backyard has an especially high concentration.

Seems too many acorns for the deer to concentrate in one area? Or I just haven't found that one sweet tree yet?
 
I was shooting bows Friday at a buddies.white oaks dropping so much on his sheds tin roof it sounded like hail. Blount county..
 
Got a few trees raining them and a lpt of trees with some. Makes it a little tougher but the bad part is, I am loaded with 'simmons but no sign of deer eating them.
 
In western Humphries, a few (very few) Mountain Chestnut Oaks are pouring out acorns. A few white oaks are starting to drop, but the number of trees that have a lot of acorns is also very few. Reds are not dropping yet.
 
There are more acorns coming from the red oaks on the property I hunt here in Hawkins Co. than I have seen in the eight years that I have been hunting it. Sat. morning when the wind started blowing hard, it sounded like you were pouring them out of a bucket. There are some white oaks starting to drop but most of the ones I inspected were wormy.

Are you sure they are red oaks? Seems awful early for them to drop. Could they be black oaks?
 
I got hit in the head by so many yest evening I considered climbing down here in Mcminn county. Im suprised I didnt come home with a concusion. Whites, Reds, and Chesnuts are falling like rain. Usually like its supposed to be the south sloped ridges drop first but it doesnt matter on our 900 acres. If its a oak its dropping.
 
Just went to my lease in Henry County this weekend. I hunt a fenceline with gigantic white oaks running down it. I didn't see hardly any acorns on the ground. Last year they put out a ton. Just not the year for those trees. My spot in Loudon County is dropping them good.

Yep..and there is a bunch on a ridge on my place. Just found them this past weekend. Big rubs all around em and ground is tore up.. Found where the bucks are hanging out... For now anyways... There are some bigger than those laying around and they hurt when they hit you too..
 
Here in Brewstertown(northern Morgan County), the red oaks are dropping but not just a whole lot. The white oaks are slim. The only white oak I can find dropping is in my yard.

Where I hunt in southern Scott County (Indian Fork), there are more acorns but not nearly as heavy as the past few years. Again, there are few white oaks dropping in this area too.
