with deer season winding down. I am getting ready to start shooting the recurve again. my goel for this year is to feel confident enough to hunt with it come next September. I need to decide on arrows, type and weight of broad heads and I need to pick up a new tab . the one I have now is to small but it was all I could find last year in left hand locally. I also have to decide on a consistent form and anchoring point. I know I am drawing past 28 inches but unsure how much consistently. traditional archery is more work than I thought it would be but I do love it and hope to harvest a deer with it next year. thanks for all the help and advice you guys post.

if you get a chance, go to this shoot. there will be someone there to help you. my wife and I are hoping to make it ourselves. not sure it will happen with my old folks having some issues.

I was just talking with my wife about wanting to do the same thing. Had to sell my compound over the summer thinking I would have the money to replace it or move into a crossbow...didn't happen. So I had to set out this bow season. I have an old Nomad Stalker and a Sequehanna, not sure on the spelling, longbow. Got some carbon express arrows and thunder head broad heads, but just didn't feel comfortable hunting with them. This summer is practice practice and practice. Until then its read all I can about form, arrows, carbon vs wood, and bow setup. I ground hunt and do some stalk hunting. Fairly confident in my technique there.

I use intrada arrows from gold tip with 125 grain tips.shoots good from 25 lb to 50.600 spine.I shoot 27 1/2 in draw.u could use the same arrow in a 500 spine.I use the same to hunt with..bear heads ,zwicky any 2 blade
