After sighting in or trying a new powder/bullet combination I generally bust a couple of chert cobbles to confirm zero and watch the dust blow. A new 4"x4" A500 steel plate now serves the same purpose and I don't have to hike across a holler to set up a reactive target each time. It appears to be a tough piece of metal-been playing with a 6x45 the last few days.

I have around 20 or so AR500 plates on my range. Cant beat them. We shoot them all the time with big caliber rifles shooting fmj with nothing more than knocking the paint off.
 
Just had it a few days but I really like it a lot-bought it used(upper) off another forum. It is a real shooter it seems and is easy to load/make ammo. It has a 16" BHW 3P 10" twist barrel- lower is a PSA with Magpul furniture. It is a super handy, accurate little carbine and hopefully before too long I will see what the coyotes think of it.

Haven't run anything over the chronograph yet-reckon I will lose some velocity with the short barrel but 90+% of my shots are inside 200 and most are inside 100 yds-so the handiness of the 16" barrel will play out in every calling situation. I would get at least an 18" 9" twist if 80-85s were the main bullet. I hope to take a few deer with it also but it should be great for coyotes.
