Just thought this video was funny. I think this yearling 6 point is a tad outmatched with the 2 1/2 year-old 8 point he's sparring with!

Pretty cool. What camera are you using? What has been your experience with deer reacting to your cams, especially older bucks?

I'm using all Browning. Half are last year's top model (and that video is from one of those) the Dark Ops HD Pro X, and the other half are this year's top model Recon Force Elite HP4. Both take very high-quality video day and night, but the Dark Ops HD Pro X has a night-time illumination that is more "spotlight," lighting up the center of the view well but the illumination rapidly fading to black at the periphery. In contrast, the Elite HP4 has more a "floodlight" illumination that lights up the entire area, which I prefer.

Deer do not react to the cameras at all, except for the first time they see them, day or night. They stare at the box for awhile. Does will come up and sniff the camera. But they cannot see the light of the flash. Individual mature bucks come back through the cameras at night over and over and over.

Holy crap, you can make out individual hairs on the deer's body.... absolutely incredible!

I may have to pull the trigger on one... but I had my first camera stolen off my property this year (a $30 WGI), so that would always be in the back of my mind.
 
With these super HD video cams, just be sure to use high-capacity cards with fast transfer rates. I'm using only SanDisk 64 GB cards with at minimum 100 m/s transfer rate. A 10 second video is 50 MB. 20 second video 100 MB.

Forgive my ignorance. How many videos can you get on a 64gb card using 10 second video. On my Dark Ops using 16gb cards, it shows I can get around the ballpark of 330 videos ("0 / 330" is what the screen displays)
 
I had that buck at 12 yards Saturday morning. Let him pass. He's only 2 1/2 but a really good 2 1/2.

In the below video, my stand is just about 8 yards outside the frame of the video to the left. And by the way, that video is from last year's model of Browning. Still good but not as crisp as this year's model.

Are these low glow or true "no glow' cameras? In either case what kind of flash range are you seeing? I notice these are close cam set-ups so I assume you are not too concerned with flash spooking them?

They are true no-glow. The Browning Dark Ops HD Pro X has adequate flash range, and produces more of a central "spotlight" type flash that quickly fades to black around the edges. They are great for close up scrape monitoring. But the Recon Force Elite HP4 has an outstanding flood style flash that illuminates the entire area. I like these for open areas like food plots. I'm getting right at 100 feet of usable illumination when mounting the camera head height and pointing it into food plots.

That's good info. Sorry I missed your reply until now. Thank you. I'm looking to upgrade cameras, but trying to find that balance between quality and cost. Especially since I run public 100% of the time.

I was checking trail cam pro about ordering a recon force elite hp4, but it list it as a "red glow". They are out of stock but want to make sure ordering correct cam once back in stock.

Strange thing is, Trailcampro.com listed some of the Browning cams as "low-glow," yet in their own review videos, they said they were "no-glow." I can confirm both cameras are "no-glow."
