For the first time in a LONG time I dont have a deer rifle, I just sold my 300RUM.
So my choices are 308, 25-06 . Or what do Yal think?
I don't want to spend a boat load on brass.
 
I do not own a 25/06 but it is on my short list of acquisitions.
I do own a 308 and haven't yet arrived at a recipe I like. Seems like most folks don't have that problem with the 308.

My suggestion is the 308. Go to Brassmanbrass.com and get the match brass.

The 308 will generally have a pretty wide bullet & powder selection and if you have too you can find factory everywhere.
