A little QDM excercise :)

Did a bunch of leaf raking today,to put around my young trees to help hold some moisture.Hope it helps.

Its about to rain here,guess it will mash the leaves down.

Mulching is great for retaining moisture, but covering the base of the tree can cause the growth of girdling roots which will eventually kill the tree. Pull the leaves back away from the trunk a few inches and let the air and light into the trunk to prevent them.

BTW,what about the tree tube,does i negate the efffect of piled up mulch?

The tree tube still allows enough light and air in to keep the roots from growing above the ground.
