Had a little time this morn before a meeting so i grabbed my lil model 60 and headed to a block of woods behind my parents farm. The cool temps and full moon made for a slow start but things finally warmed up. had 6 on a stick at 8:00 and didn't like my chances for a limit. picked up squirrel 7, a fat cutter and almost called it quotes as time was running out. Saw a gray on the ground and was able to anchor him. His buddy, also a ground dweller, fell off the base of a old elm at 8:15. Crossed the fence into some dense woods and picked up number 10, a traveler that slowed a little for a second look. 6 males and 4 females. Not my best morning shooting as i missed two and 2 required a finisher. 10 for 14 to close the morning. can't go in the morning but i am all till after labor day so should have plenty of time to hunt soon.
