not trying to be bossy, but its a good idea (and the law) to flush out your motor, live wells and anything that holds water with a hose. takes maybe 15 minutes and motors now a days has a water hose input on them. not only does it help keep pumps clean from buildup, more importantly it keeps microscopic zebra mussel larvae from being transferred to a lake that may not have them yet. they can live several days in leftover moisture in boats.
