Sorry no picture as I left the item in the field (but I can easily find it again).

I found a very large (10-12 lb rock) that was incredibly symmetrical, very smooth on the surfaces and in the general shape of say a large mound of bread dough arranged in a smooth circle. There were not even one piece of flint on this hillside so maybe this was just a rock and a coincidence. I don't think I have ever seen one this perfect. It would have take a very strong person to use this rock one handed for anything.

So, any ideas or just a rock?

Sounds like you might have found a mortar and if so the pestle might be nearby also.

Thought the same, but without it being concave its doubtful.

The big ones usually will have a bunch of small concave holes around the center.

No concavity on either side. My apologies for not taking a picture. By the time I carried this rock up to the top of the hill I was dragging from the food plot work. However, I will wash the rock off and take a picture as soon as I get back down there.
