My food plots are a bust this year! My small plot came up in turnips, but only a strip down the middle ( i assume due to light availability). My big plot with rape, clover, and wheat is a bust. Nothing! So frustrating.
 
My buck oats didn't do crap this year they are normally 10 inches high by now, I put them out when they were calling for rain and it never came they eventually got a little rain on them but they are maybe 3 inches high now, I feel your pain.

X2 this is 2 years in a row for me .... I don't think I going to plant them next year
 
I wish... man its bare dirt. Well I take that back some blue grass is up about an inch. I can see where the rape has germinated (1st set leaves broke out) but they are about half an inch tall. My turnips came up, but are not being utalized yet. Oh well.

maybe some wheat?Rain is coming according to forecast
 
I didn't plant my plots until late October. They are doing amazingly well with the last few rains we've had. Two weeks after the first rain on the plots after planting and they are already 6 inches high.
 
Well I went out this morning (didnt see anything but turkeys), but I put out 50lb more wheat. It may be spring before it does anything, but I guess it will be a good early spring forage. We'll see.
 
We planted mid sept. just before one rain and was getting a little desperate before the second one came but they all look pretty good so far....here are few.

Second pic was made early and the first later....they have kept it eaten down pretty low even though there are plenty of acorns nearby.
