I have a SBR MP5, 9" Barrell + suppressor. Wondering about 147grain subsonic hollow point tmj. 50 yrd shot max. I know shot placement means all, a .22 will work, blah blah. Think this would suffice? Want a good kill, not a wounded animal.

Your first question is What is muzzle velocity and foot pounds of energy?

I seem to recall the velocity will be around 1000 fps and ft pounds around 350.

I o not believe it will carry sufficient killing power much beyond 25 yards or so and even that is a stretch.

The case simply does not hold enough powder to make a clean shot at 50 yards.

Aww, you guys spoiling my tacticool hunting. :bash: Well, the suppressor will handle 300 blackout too. Guess I will have to buy a new gun.

When I read "tmj" I'm thinking it stands for "Total Metal Jacket" i.e. Full Metal Jacket, which translates to non-expanding, which is illegal in TN for deer.

The energy will work at close range though. Try some kind of soft point or hollow point.
